This morning we walked into town and went back to the
visitor center to view the 3 films they had for viewing on Dawson City . Went back up to the Dome to take pictures in
the daytime. It was cloudy as you can
see in the below pictures. You can see
the difference between midnight (yesterdays pictures) and daytime….not too much of a difference.

We took a ride to see the dredge. We didn’t do the tour however, because we are
going to do a dredge tour in Chicken, Alaska . A dredge is the machine they use to mine the
gold at the claims. This dredge was the largest wooden-hulled bucket dredge in North America, about two-thirds the size of a football field in length and eight stories high. It was built in 1912 for the Canadian Klondike Mining Company and was powered by electricity.

We hurried back to Dawson City to attend the "Palace Grand Theatre" presentation of the Greatest Klondiker Contest", three colorful characters from Dawson's past duke it out on stage for the title of the Greatest Klondiker. Many of the caravan's participants attended. Individuals in the audience were selected to help. Each actor presented their case and the audience voted on the winner. It was lots of fun.
This is our last day in Dawson City. Tomorrow we head for the Top of the World Highway on our way to Chicken, Alaska.
